i'm dustin,

the photographer behind still joy photography. i’m a fine art photographer based in southwest michigan with a background in street and landscape photography. i found my love of photography all the way back in 2009, when young, college dustin took a summer writing class at iusb, which included a 17 day trip in and around london and paris. i bought a cheap point-and-shoot to take with me. a kodak, i think.

instead of photograping the louvre and hampton court, or whatever, i found beauty in a table sunken in the sienne river, and the (very large) ducks in hyde park. i took more random shots of the streets than i did of the sites, and this was well before i’d even heard of street photography. i just always have looked for the beauty in everything. people and places, mundane or marvelous, i look for beauty in it all. and i find it. that’s my thing. i see the beauty in it all.
